Why Live Oak?
Why Live Oak?
At Live Oak Elementary, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to an exceptional education in a school where they feel challenged, supported, and connected. We believe in cultivating our students hearts and minds. From rigorous academics and innovative enrichment opportunities to a welcoming school culture and strong family partnerships, we are committed to helping every student thrive.
Academic Excellence
Hearts and Minds.
Our students benefit from a comprehensive academic program designed to ensure every learner reaches their full potential.
Our robust Learning Center provides targeted academic support for students across all grade levels TK-6th through flexible intervention groups based on ongoing assessment data each unit. Our team identifies student needs and provide support during What I Need (WIN) instruction.
Our Learning Center is staffed by:
-
Two dedicated Teachers on Special Assignment (TOSAs) specializing in Math and English Language Arts
-
Six additional Instructional Assistants providing targeted intervention, including bilingual staff to support our English Learners
-
Collaborative partnerships between classroom teachers and academic support staff
As a proud Full Inclusion School, we believe every student belongs. Students with and without IEPs learn together in an inclusive environment where individualized support helps all learners flourish.
This year, we are excited to launch our District's new CLIMB initiative, which strengthens standards-based instruction, increases teacher collaboration, and accelerates student achievement through high-quality instructional practices.

Positive School Culture
Where Every Leopard Belongs
We know students learn best when they feel safe, valued, and connected.
Our school proudly implements Capturing Kids' Hearts, earning recognition as a Rising Star Campus during our very first year of implementation. We are also a PBIS school, promoting positive behavior through our SPOTS initiative and expectations. We have applied for California PBIS State Recognition and eagerly await our Fall 2026 results.
These programs reflect our commitment to creating a campus where every child experiences:
-
Emotional and physical safety
-
Strong relationships
-
Student belonging
-
Positive behavior supports and interventions
- Progressive discipline and natural consequences
-
Meaningful recognition and celebration
School spirit is a hallmark of our campus. Monthly Spirit Rallies and Spirit Days bring our entire campus community together to celebrate achievements, recognize our SPOTS achievers, play games, and strengthen our school bonds. Our enthusiastic staff creates an environment where learning is joyful and every student is encouraged to shine.
Family Partnerships
Better Together
Our families are an essential part of what makes our school special.
We believe students are most successful when schools and families work together. Throughout the year, we host engaging family events that bring our community together through fun, learning, and connection.
Favorite traditions at Live Oak include:
-
Gingerbread Night
- STEM Night
- Literacy Night

-
Mother/Son, Mother/Daughter, Father/Son, Father/Daughter evening events including a Pinewood Derby, March Madness Basketball tournament, Board Game Night and an Arts and Crafts Night

And more!
We welcome all caring adults who play an important role in a child's life and encourage them to participate in these special experiences.
Our outstanding PTA plays a vital role in supporting students, staff, and school programs. As a PTA Golden Apple school, we succeeded in attaining 100% Teacher Membership and we have a goal of 100% student membership, PTA helps make many of our favorite events possible.
Visit the PTA section of our website to learn how you can get involved, attend an upcoming meeting, and become part of our incredible school community.
The more connected families are to school, the richer the experience becomes for every child.
