CUSD Parent and Family Volunteer Tiers

We love our family volunteers!

Thank you for everything you do to help in our classrooms, on field trips, and at school events. There are new safety rules required by the State of California. Under state law (Senate Bill 848), all schools in California must follow strict safety checks for anyone who works with students.
To ensure the safety and security of our students, CUSD has established two distinct tiers for parent volunteers. Please review the requirements for each tier below:

Tier One Volunteers

This tier is for volunteers who work under the direct supervision of a teacher or office staff member and will at no time be left alone with children. Requirements:
  1. Completed Volunteer Application and Appropriate Behavior form (via Informed K12). Please use the links below.
  2. Copy of current driver’s license or identification card
  3. Completion of Mandated Reporter training
  4. TB Test/Risk Assessment results (within last 4 years)

Tier Two Volunteers

This tier is for volunteers who may be with a group of students without direct staff supervision. Examples include chaperoning a small group on a field trip or working with students in an outside setting. Requirements:
  1. All requirements from Tier I
  2. LiveScan Fingerprint verification (new applicants)
If you plan to volunteer this year, please ensure you have completed the necessary requirements for your preferred tier prior to your scheduled volunteer date. Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
