Seven Santa Clarita Valley schools were selected, including Academy of the Canyons, Castaic Middle School, La Mesa Junior High School, and Canyon, Castaic, Saugus and West Ranch high schools.

The Governing Board Election will be held on Nov. 3, 2026 by Los Angeles County to elect members to the Governing Boards in Los Angeles County Districts. In the Castaic Union School district, there are three Board members whose terms are expiring: Laura Pearson (Trustee Area B), Vincent Titiriga (Trustee Area D) and Mayreen Burk (Trustee Area E).

Castaic Union School District has announced that Castaic Middle School has been selected as a 2026 California Distinguished School by the California Department of Education, one of the state’s highest honors for public schools.

The city of Santa Clarita presents its latest art exhibit, “Castaic Union School District Student Exhibition,” on view now through Jan. 20 at the Santa Clarita Public Library Old Town Newhall Branch.

The Castaic Union School District is home to three elementary schools, a middle school and serves approximately 1,900 students. While there has been a drop in enrollment, Bob Brauneisen, CUSD superintendent, said students are offered a more personalized approach to education.

The Castaic Union School District (CUSD) is proud to announce that Castaic Middle School, Castaic Elementary School, and Northlake Hills Elementary School have been named to the Educational Results Partnership (ERP) 2025 Honor Roll, recognizing them among California's top-performing public schools.

The request from DSA required the district to reach out to several vendors to obtain quotes for these testing services and the quotes were received after the deadline for the previously scheduled July 10 Board Meeting.

The Castaic Union School District has alerted families that, looking to next year, the district will not be able to provide home-to-school transportation for the general education students, only for the special education students.
